I'm 6 feet tall 170 pounds. I'd have to eat over 3500 calories, closer to 4000 if I want to start gaining muscle. I might have to start eating White Potatoes everyday?

How can anyone eat that much eating paleo?

Yea some people need to eat that much.

Yea you need to eat carbs to eat that much and maintain a good training load.

I would conversely ask: What is difficult about it at all?

Search with the search box and you'll find plenty of discussion re mass gain, lifting while paleo, etc.

I myself do 3k just about on the nose with strict paleo. Meat and potatoes, white and sweet. Oh, I do an ON whey protein powder pre and post lifting.

Meat and potatoes have grown strong men for hundreds of years (more of course, but), nothing different about us today.

And strong women :) I eat between 3-3500 calories a day and potatoes, all colours + sweet, play a key part in my growth in addition to protein and fruit. – jesuisjuba - paleorepublic.com Jul 23 2011 at 16:07
