I found the Heart Scan Blog recently, and I must confess that it interests me. However, I am unable to find out very much about the accompanying program without shelling out $80 or more. Now I'm not opposed to spending that money and indeed it would seem well worthwhile, but I figured that I could ask about it here and get a bit of upfront info on it.
I'm very happy an eater out of the Robb Wolf camp but I'm always interested in making certain that I'm taking the best care of my cardiovascular system that I can, especially as I approach 50.
Dr Davis program is solid. But you can do it on your own. What he is offering people is hacking their lipid profile to make global statements of CV risk. Problem is he still believes in some hypothesis that just dont wash. Do I think you'd be wasting 80 bucks? No. He has a lot to teach for a person who knows nada about heart health. He is absolutely anti grain and wheat no doubt. He also is not big on most carbs because most of his people have pre existing heart damage/ atherosclerosis and conduction abnormalities. He wants you to avoid sdLDL and the risk of oxidized LDL but he has not tied it all together yet as far as I can see. Its very heart centric and is out of context to general longevity.
