@jeff, it depends. What are the units of your result, and what is the normal range for your lab?

In the USA, the normal for lipoprotein (a) mass is <30mg/dL, and the normal for Lp(a) cholesterol is <3mg/dL.

Lp(a) cholesterol is considered to be a more reliable indicator of coronary risk than Lp(a) mass, in part due to variations in laboratories and assays. In this study lipoprotein (a) cholesterol, but not lipoprotein (a) mass, was associated with cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular events.
