I was served green beans the other day and realised I didn't know if they were a legume or a vegetable. Can you tell me? Also, I think I knoe that peas are legumes, am I correct?
Thanks all.

Botanically they're legumes. Personally, I regard young bean and pea pods and pea shoots as acceptable vegetables since the problematic compounds develop in the more mature seeds. |

They're the legume you can eat! (Cause you can have my green bean fries when you pry them from my cold, dead hands.) |

Peas are legumes, but most legumes are vegetables. Beans are also legumes, and they are vegetables. It's sort of like a volcano is a mountain, but not all mountains are volcanoes. A legume is a vegetable, but not all vegetables are legumes. |
