I drink a can of coconutmil kevery day. I think it is an easy way to get my calories as well as it tastes very good. But I often feel a little sick after eating it. Should I still eat it and ignore the sick feeling afterwards?, maybe my stomack get used to it after time? Or Is this a sign I should quit drinking it? What would you do? As I mentioned I think its hard to get enough calories otherwise, and I dont want to loose weight..
I don't mean to sound brisk but if consuming something makes you feel not well, wouldnt that most likely be a reason not to consume it? There's nothing on the earth that everyone must eat. Skip the coconut milk and just eat/drink something else.
Its pretty unnatural to have such easy, regular access to that much coconut milk day in day out anyway.
I'd stop consuming anything that made me feel worse than I did before I consumed it.
Find your cals elsewhere. Get creative. It can be done, coconut milk in a can, from a store, shipped around the globe is not the only answer.
Beware of the idea that coconut fat is simply causing "die-off" symptoms from its microbial properties. I went on that notion for a couple of years, attributing my worsening reactions to coconut oil to recurring yeast problems when in actuality I was developing an intolerance - not only to coconut but to salicylates, which occur in pretty much all fruits and vegetables. Coconut - especially coconut fat - is absolutely loaded with salicylates, which can easily turn from a hormetically healthy irritant to a full-blown assailant on your system. So now I'm not only yeast intolerant, but largely fruit and vegetable intolerant, glutamate (meat) sensitive, etc. Best not to become a cautionary tale oneself and always abide by "all things in moderation" and "the dose makes the poison."
could be a number of things, a buding intolerance or simply is too much in your stomach at once. I'd try removing it then adding it back in smaller quantities to see which is the issue (if is an intolerance you should notice it right away).
Any large quantity of anything will likely cause you issues over time if use too often.
Try using EV coconut oil in place of the milk, you can add it into to your food. You can find a vast number of healthy things to replace those calories. For example avocados, nuts, eggs, a variety of meats, healthy green and good starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes, almond milk, and of you eat dairy (some do, some dont) you can eat some cheeses like feta or heavy cream.
This may offer some insight:
The question is - what is it that makes you feel sick when you drink it?
It might be the amount of fat you are consuming so quickly. If you are not used to the quantity, it causes some difficulty. Basically the gall bladder has to produce enough bile to handle the fat - and if it doesn't, some fat goes through undigested (yuck).
If you increase the amount of fat more slowly, a healthy gall bladder will be able to ramp up and make enough bile to emulsify the fat load. Guess what bile is made from? Cholesterol!
