Hello fellow paleo dieters. I have been doing paleo now for nearly 2 weeks. I have to say that i have never felt better. My constant hunger has now almost gone. My sugar cravings are nearly zero, the pounds are melting away, and the energy is through the roof. Im a house painter by trade, and as you can imagine its a very labour intensive job. Paleo has further enhanced me to the point where i can work 8 hrs straight and feel even more energised to go another 3 or even 4 hrs if necessary. But thats just a biproduct of paleo. I also would like to mention that i find indulging in some not so paleo food every now and then is not such a bad thing either. My vice just happens to be chocolate. So every now and again i indulge in a few pieces and get right back on track the next day. This may not work for some, but it certainly works for me, and allows me to stay on track for longer. I hope this small article has helped some who may feel guilty for eating not so paleo at times. Just use it as a tool. And dont beat yourself up over it. Sometimes a piece of cake is more effective in losing weight than a piece of chicken.

Try dark chocolate instead of milk (sugar) chocolate. I am in the home improvement business also and I agree that without the paleo way UI would be in lousy ass shape. I am 37 and have the energy of an 18 year old man! – Aaron Curl Aug 4 2011 at 12:49

  1. Welcome ! Glad to hear paleo is working for you.
  2. Search existing threads about the topic and post your answers there. New topics should be a form question.
  3. A lot of people eat chocolate and don't really stress it but cake ? In my opinion, easier to overindulge, gluten, more sugar (than chocolate). Not really A-Game.
  4. Why no one ever recommends crack to an ex crackhead :D

I'm actually kind of with you that as long as you get right back on track you'll probably be okay. Then again I don't really see it as an addiction. I see it as a broken metabolism that keeps crying out for more sugar because it's no longer able to utilize sugar for energy. As long as you are in fat burning mode you won't have this issue - which is why lower carb works for so many of us - and a single indulgence, at least as far as my experience, doesn't seem to be enough to kick you out of that mode. That's just my experience though and someone else may be different.
