Hi there! I'm heading to Las Vegas in September (to finally tie the knot!) and was hoping that I could get some recommendations as to restaurants in Vegas that are paleo-friendly.

I'm from Canada, so please include any US chain restaurants that may apply to (ie I've heard that Chipotle can be done)

Thanks!!!!

The Wicked Spoon buffet at the Cosmopolitan is fantastic, and very easy to do paleo :) Wasn't impressed with other buffets. Lots of steakhouses, sushi (sashimi!), seafood and such too, but I'll let others chime in on recommendations for those.

Congrats!!

EDIT: Ack, I completely forgot the best meal I had there... La Cave at the Wynn. Small plates style, and very paleo-friendly -- we had bacon-wrapped dates, osso bucco, charcuterie, asparagus, something with steak and mushrooms... great meal.

ooohh...we're staying at the Cosmopolitan - that is GREAT!! Thanks so much!!! – Thumper Aug 4 2011 at 21:59

Oh man, you are? It's amazing! I was just there in July. The restaurants there are all great, although we had awful service at STK. The pools are fantastic :) If you're into fine cocktails, the bartenders at Vesper were great about making intensely flavourful (<-- also a canuck), fresh, low sugar drinks based on our preferences. – stephthegeek Aug 5 2011 at 0:29
Also there is a big convenience/liquor store type place in the magnificent mile mall right across the strip, which has some fresh food... closest thing in walking distance if you want some paleo-friendly snacks. – stephthegeek Aug 5 2011 at 0:34
Edited with another recommendation! – stephthegeek Aug 5 2011 at 0:39
Thanks so much for all your recommendations - I've put them in my travel book so that we don't forget when we arrive! – Thumper Aug 9 2011 at 22:08

Im a local. I love a restaurant a short ride of the strip..El Rincon de Buenos Aires. ItsArgentian meat...get a salad massive amounts of meat chimichurri sauce and they have groupons periodically. Check it out on yelp. Or Texas de Brasil on the south end of the Blvd in town square. Its a Brazilian churascarria (all u can eat meat and salad bar)

I definitely second the churascarria suggestion. You can't go wrong there unless you're strictly grass-fed in your meat eating preferences. – invisible ink Aug 5 2011 at 0:30
Hey, Shannon! I live in Laughlin. Don't go to Vegas much though. I'll keep track of the recommendations made here just in case. – Nance Dec 18 2011 at 18:09

I enjoy the Spice Market buffet in Planet Hollywood, lots of ethnic food stations and ways to indulge. Though I can't speak for all the cooking oils used, etc.

And also you can drive north on the strip a little (no jk, walk it!!! or sprints)... lemon garlic chicken Cuban style!!!

We are a couple from Ireland (a Belgian and a Hungarian) had been paleo for 6 months when we went to Vegas and got married there in September. We stayed for 12 days and the second day figured out the buffet system in the hotels from the advertisement paper in our hotelroom. Every morning we would eat breakfast or brunch in the buffet of our hotel (Golden Nugget) and then would eat again around 7-8 pm after we had enough of sightseeing. We picked a different hotel buffet each evening. I must say it was the greatest indulgence of our life! The food there seemeed to be so much more quality than in Europe and cheaper too! Ever since we are dreaming of the crispy bacon that we tried to reproduce here from what you can find in Tesco, but so far not too much success, lol. The most astonishing was though that we lost 3 kilogramms each in 2 weeks which was unbelievable given the amount of meat we stuffed into ourselves! So far the greatest holiday we've had. I'm sure you'll have a great time too!

I'm heading to Vegas next week.

Any more thoughts, ideas, etc?

(We're staying on The Strip)

*Update: We're back.

Don't be afraid of the buffet at The Stratosphere! I had salmon, eggs, bacon, a veggie medley oozing butter and a good helping of beef stomach (they had menudo and I picked lots of stomach out from the menudo... they said it was okay for me to do). Good stuff and the only time I ate on Saturday, Christmas Eve. We went to the Cirque du Soleil Beatles show that night and all was well.

Have fun! That's the major suggestion. – Nance Dec 18 2011 at 18:10
I'll take that advice, Nance! Thanks! – Anonymous Chump Dec 18 2011 at 18:25

www.BodyFoodKitchen.com is completely Paleolithic. Ideal for residents (versus visitors) of Las Vegas and Los Angeles since there are designated delivery days and minimum quantities. Thanks!

Our menu has evolved since we first posted here two months ago. Although we do have a few side items that include legumes, we are otherwise still Paleo friendly. Note: we are Ultra Lean, no lard or s.fats. We now accommodate visitors and deliver to the Las Vegas Strip every day. Thank you. – BodyFoodKitchen.com May 25 at 15:43

Hi guys, just wanted to see if anyone found any new spots in Las Vegas - going for 2 days with non-paleo friends and would like to see if there are any good quality restaurants with free-range chicken/eggs, grass-fed meat etc... Any tips would be appreciated!

McDonald's - Salad without croutons and dressing, hamburger without the bun/ketchup/mustard, and water. With a little common sense, every restaurant can be as paleo as you want it to be.

Really? McDonald's? I'm pretty sure they have that garbage in Canada too. Why would that be a destination meal on a vacation to Las Vegas? – invisible ink Aug 5 2011 at 0:28
It wasn't a destination recommendation. It was a point to prove the second sentence. – mth Aug 5 2011 at 1:17
The point of the second sentence was: If you are in Vegas for your wedding, paleo cannot possibly be one of your top concerns and if it is, it needn't be. – mth Aug 5 2011 at 1:25
hi mth - eating paleo isn't a TOP concern, but since Vegas is a much bigger city than where I live in Canada I was hoping for a few suggestions from PHers as to where they would go. – Thumper Aug 9 2011 at 22:09
