Possible Duplicate:
Legumes and beans on Paleo?

Why did you go on paleo? Actually, what does being a 'paleo' entail? Can you eat grains and beans (things that we were 'raised' on from looooong ago)?

Personally, I went low carb after reading Dr. Wolfgang Lutz, Life Without Bread. He is not anti-carb but researched it for 40 years. 72 grams is the best daily intake of carbs to have perfect blood sugar, thus perfect blood pressure, etc. and appropriate weight loss. I took it further to Paleo when I learned more about the benefits of HIIT (high intensity interval training) for workouts. I used to be a runner. A two hour run used to be a favorite escape of mine but after having my son I couldn't enjoy any kind of running, even a short run, I just never wanted to be away from him, at my age it was probably a good time to stop "chronic running." they say it gets harder to lose weight above age 40, but grains is the reason why. A lifetime of grain eating may have seemed ok in youth, and that's why I felt good being a vegetarian in my twenties bc the body can take that kind of abuse early on, the Paleo way is it. Enjoy the journey.
