Can ketosis be attained without Dairy? I'm a little confused after reading a lot of Dr. Kurt Harris' stuff. Can anyone clarify, is it just easier with butter and full cream, but can be achieved while still being Paleo?

Getting into ketosis isn't about what you eat, it's about what you don't eat: carbs. |

there are lots of posts about this on here, but the short answer is yes it can absolutely be attained without dairy, and is possibly even easier. Coconut oil definitely helps, here is a great blog about ways t make a diet ketogenic http://perfecthealthdiet.com/?p=2479 also search on here for ketosis |

I agree with Jeff. You don't need dairy at all and it may even be easier to get there without it. I actually reach ketosis more quickly with lower fat all meat/eggs. I think it's the calorie restriction that helps me but I'm not sure. If I eat chicken and eggs for two days I'm in. I don't recommend eating that way forever obviously but if you want to get into ketosis quickly meat and eggs exclusively is the way to go. |

I am well keto-adapted, I eat mostly protein & fats, very low carb to no carb most days, have been this way for years. I do not drown my food in butter or pour cream over everything. I will have berries with cream on occasion, cream in tea, but ketosis is easy enough to enter into. |
