Come on. You can tell me. What is a (Paleo/Health-related) idea that you have thought (even briefly) about writing a book about? If not, what is a book that hasn't been written yet that you would like to read?
Nobody is going to convince me that Rose, Laura, Gone2Croatan or some of the other talented smart cookies on here couldn't write one hell-of-a-book.
I don't have time to write a book, but I know a book I would like to see written: a history of alternative diets. Bet there would be a lot to learn from that one. A structuralist analysis (think Claude Levi-Strauss) would be interesting.
I just really liked those "choose your own adventure books" growing up. Maybe a choose your own diet book. You could see what would happen to you at the end. Lots of illustrations too.
I'm all about foraging and eating seasonally. I'd like to make a recipe book that delves into entomophagy, offal and some of the other food preparations that get less press, but are more "paleo" IMO. Perhaps it would be regional, or a series of regional books that provide foraging advice and processing tips for things like Bay Laurel nuts, acorns, nettles, how to raise and prepare meal worms, etc. Maybe a combination of ancient technologies and recipes, but presented in a way that's more accessible than many of the books that cover the same info (which are mostly survival guides with horrible graphic design and layout.)
I've always wanted to open a restaurant along the same vein.
Eating a paleo diet on a budget... I would love that one. I think this would also make a good blog as retailers change their stock units and one always discovers new foods.
Of course a blog/book like this would have to focus on a specific region or country because as you know the available foods are different everywhere.
So for me it would be: Eating a paleo diet on a budget in Germany :)
I'd like a Paleo book specifically for women and covering women's issues... With the exception of Hunt*Gather*Love Paleo feels too much like a boy's club. I also think that there might be interesting differences in how men and women respond to different types of Paleo/Primal/WAPF diets, interventions and remedies and I'd like an in-depth study of how hormonal differences affect weight and health outcomes for men and women at different points in their life, covering both adolescence and post-menopause.
The sad thing is that I don't think enough real scientific research has been done by open minded scientists on these issues, and even initial studies would be a dissertation in itself.
Paleo guide to delicious dating! I will go on as many dates as possible to "research" said book. Then, the recipe and the date will get "rated" with chili peppers. Like, one chili pepper for mild and 5 for hey hey, that was spicy. Readers can decide if the dish made the date...or vice versa.
I was thinking about writing a story or book about a society that goes strict Paleo, as an entire society (i.e. thousands of people), and this causes enough friction that they secede into their own state/country. The book would be about how the new idealistic society develops fully Paleo/Primal food and products and how the population adapts.
The idea has been done before, the book "Ecotopia" is along a similar vein. But mine would be better :-).
Paleo & Food Addiction
I'd like to write a book about Paleo and Food Addiction. No, I'm not talking about orthorexia. I'm talking about those of us with food addiction (and I know there are many of us!) who have turned to Paleo to help us heal our addiction. Some of us succeed, some of us struggle. It's been my journey, and it is amazing to me when you stay on paleo strongly, you don't have those urges to binge (or at least not as frequently). Plus it helps with the weight loss needs that many of us have. I'm realizing that my blog paleolady.com seems to be really a blog about my journey with food addiction and trying to heal with Paleo. It would be great if my story could help other people heal!
