I've been eating and living the Paleo lifestyle for a few years now, but I'm just now getting into looking into different recipes... I've noticed that a few desserts call for coconut cream and/or butter. I use coconut oil and milk quite frequently, but now that I'm looking for the other two, I'm having trouble finding them.
So, my question, is does anybody know where to get coconut cream and butter? Thanks in advance for the help!!
Coconut cream has sugar added to it so I wouldn't use that unless you can find one without sugar, coconut butter is available in most health food stores or I order it from Amazon. Amazon carries both products Coconut Butter
Edit: I found a creamed coconut with no added sugar, I'm assuming creamed coconut would be the same as coconut cream - here's a linkCreamed Coconut
Coconut cream dosn't have sugar added. It is almost surely hydrogenated though as it comes in the form of a brick(and doesn't melt) retaining its solidity. I researched this well before and these were the findings. P.S: lots of flatulence with coconut cream if you take even a few ounces at a time.
I bought a coconut cream concentrate and it does melt (keeping the bottle submerged in hot water. I melted it and poured it into a cookie sheet then froze it and scored it into bars for easier use. (I bought an organic product, 100% natural nothing added from amazon)
I also bought coconut butter and it seems to be coconut oil with coconut meat. I am not sure what the difference is between the butter and the cream actually. Also bought organic 100% natural on amazon.
