I went looking for more videos after seeing the Taubes/Gueyenet smackdown and found that videos have been posted.

What do you think of these?

Enjoy!

edit: Videos are single camera on speaker, but slides are available here.

Lalonde's speech was humbling.

But I have a serious concern: does he have black eyes?

A "hard core scientist" scolding the group of "amateur scientists" that turned mainstream nutrition science on its head is really irritating. Were there overstatements? Yeah. Would I rather Chris Masterjohn or Stephan Guyenet design my diet than the Harvard Nutrition Department? Hell fucking yeah. I think this guy should get some of the humble he's trying to give out. – Jay Aug 13 2011 at 1:19

He seemed like he going out of his way to be a jerk, but I tried to ignore that because he had some great points. My biggest criticism is that he said in the beginning that the claim "we haven't had enough time to adapt to these foods" was completely invalid. Then later he repeated the statement, but commented that the way he was framing it was legit. I could see virtually no difference between the two statements. It's funny you bring up Harvard Nutrition. If you look at their guidelines, they are filled with nonsense about saturated fat. I wonder how Mat feels about that. – imanomnivore Aug 13 2011 at 16:57

Matt needed to say what he did. Too many out there spewing BS that will not allow this to go mainstream. He was spot on. – The Quilt Aug 14 2011 at 3:56

Mat's not in the nutrition department at Harvard, and I would be surprised if he agreed with much of what they put out. He's in the Chemistry and Chemical Biology department. – Hilary Aug 16 2011 at 11:10

I enjoyed Dr. Lustig's speech (the only one I've seen so far from AHS) but I think it would be better if they could somehow meld the slides with the video as having two different browser windows to look at both was slightly annoying.

As for the content, it was very informative and I felt like I learned a few things about leptin from it that I didn't know.

and a few more he left out I am afraid...... – The Quilt Aug 14 2011 at 3:54

I went ahead and "streamlined" Robb Wolf's talk: http://www.streamlnr.com/s/4F9MW2YP/

A little frenetic without (or even with) the slides, but some interesting points. His story in particular -- the data was a bit rushed.

(Let me know if you want to help annotate the rest here: http://www.streamlnr.com/cc/ancestral-health/)

Yes, I watched the Lustig vid and am looking forward to the post-production version. Is it the lighting, or has he lost weight since his viral video?

Just watched and enjoyed Lindeberg's:

(downloaded it beforehand with DownloadHelper)

Tried to watch Lalonde's but it did not seem worth it without the slides, which I don't see up.

Lustig's vid seems to jump foward 9 mins in, I lost track of what slide he was on so I gave up.

I had this same experience with Lustig's video, it was very frustrating. – Paul Aug 13 2011 at 19:45

LaLonde was fine without slides. You could look up most the molecules on wiki if you wanted. – No more. Aug 14 2011 at 4:06
