I've been caffeine free for three weeks, but have broken down and had caffeine a couple of days. In a all truth, I struggle with this, and can't put together a plan on how to deal with that need for coffee in the morning. Anyone have a drink/food they replace caffeine with that is Paleo?

A good night's sleep, there's nothing like it! A hot cup of tea is nice though for the feeling of sipping something hot.

How about chicory?

There is no caffeine in chicory, and it produces a more 'roasted' flavour than coffee does. Many coffee producers offer blends with up to 30% chicory, which cuts down on the caffeine content of your cup. But many folk enjoy a cup of 'coffee' made entirely from ground, roasted chicory.

You can find quite a few different ways to buy it on Amazon.

Personally, they will have to pry my coffee cup from my cold, dead hand. I admire those strong enough to try it. I've never even tried to quit. A person has to have some vices. ;) – sherpamelissa Aug 12 2011 at 18:39
well melissa, I used to be the same way, then I went went week and half with out it, and I just slept, and didn't do anything all day. It's getting better, and def and huge difference from just one cup a day, to being caffeine free. But I never thought something like coffee could effect my superman mentality... – Charlie Aug 12 2011 at 22:56
