my favorite way to eat almond butter (raw "sprouted" almond butter that is) is to scoop about 2 tablespoons of it and stick it to a banana. I LOVE that combo! But since I got my lab results back with small dense LDL, I have been told by many that I need to consider cutting back on fructose and PUFA intake, so I haven't had that delicious treat since then, as I have begrudgingly chosen to drop all bananas and o6 bearing nuts from my diet until further notice :( |

Use them to make protein bars (although I must admit, I prefer roasting hazelnuts and making hazelnut butter to use for these bars) : http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-energy-bar-redux/ |

I like to make a smoothie with banana and hemp milk with almond butter - it's SO good. For sweets, I like health bent's banana swirl bread and Elana's pantry almond butter blondies. We've also got a couple of sweets on our site using it. http://paleoparents.com/2011/spunky-holiday-nonas-chocolate-easter-eggs/ http://paleoparents.com/2011/3293894036/ Stacy |

Out of all the things I've tried to dip in to a jar of almond butter, tangerine slice are the absolute #1. Even beats banana slices. |

i know this is kind of high in carbs/sugar, so i only eat these once per week or on a tough workout day. trader joe's has these dried bananas (literally a flattened, dried banana) and i LOVE making almond butter & banana roll-ups with them. |

So--a little bit of a disclaimer here: I'm not above using a little bit of high quality tamari (wheat free soy sauce) in a recipe. I used to make this sauce for cold buckwheat noodles, back in my pre-paleo days. I recently read a recipe that used something really similar mixed into collard greens, and it's amazing. I'm sure you can come up with different uses for it. I can't give you ratios, because I change it every time. Thin it out with chicken stock and/or by heating it. Almond butter A couple of tbs of tamari Fresh minced or powdered garlic Fresh minced or ground powdered ginger Something acidic: lime juice or vinegar Something spicy: chipotle powder, hot sauce, whatever |
