I've also been listening to some dubstep lately; everyone seems to find it annoying as hell (except my 15-year old niece) but I do like it for driving and working out.
If I'm outside running, I don't generally listen to any music. I feel like I should listen for traffic/dogs/crazy people trying to 'get' me. If I'm inside I like electronic (Depeche Mode, BT, And One), heavier stuff (Rammstein, Oomph!) or random silly 80's. If I'm tired I need something really energetic/upbeat to keep me going.
when not outside, i drown out the standard gym music with my own. for me, music is contextual based on what im working out; weird right? anyway, lately for intense weightlifting i've been going heavy on "dubstep" (warning, not for everybody -- very heavy electronic and often with no lyrics).
