I have been in a discussion with friends trying to figure out what is the most common age group of people that eat paleo? I myself am 22yrs old and I try to eat as clean as possible when I am in the US and able to I eat about 90/10 paleo. But since I have been in Afghanistan for the last 8months only 4 left..I try to eat clean for being out here but sometimes I am too hungry and need to eat the cookies and chips I get from back home..Any information and input would be great thanks again..

I think there is a range of all ages eating paleo. We've all got different reasons for getting here but I think people change their outlook on a lot of issues many times throughout their lives. Hell I just read today that Bill Clinton has gone vegan and he's like 102 right? =) (he just looks like it cause he's eating vegan) |

I am age 56.. I just learned how to eat PALEO. I wish I would have gotten it at your age! In two months I have gotten off of several meds and lost 22 pounds. Don't ever think that this is not the right way to eat. It is saving my life. |

I'm 20 and have been eating Paleo for a year and a half... though based on blogs and forums, it seems that the young twenty-somethings are the minority. |

I am 25...havent touched processed food/grains in like 7 years. wouldnt consider what i have done 'paleo' the entire time. i was ZC for a while, started off low carb, switched to VLC, then developed common sense and stopped 'trying' to be a certain way and just eating real food and listening to how i feel & react. oh, and i have GAINED 40lbs in total haha :) |

I'm 42 and started in October of 2010. I had a couple of false starts before that when I tried to follow Cordain's plan. I'm fitter than I have been in many years. |

I'm not sure there IS an "age group" that this appeals to. I'm 30. I lent my copy of PB to my Mom and Dad because my mom, after tons of surgeries and other medical crap, had put on 40 pounds. My mom died a few months ago, but the diet was getting her healthier. Dad is still fully involved with Primal and lectures me now! He's also slowly working on his new girlfriend with it. They're both in their 50s. I read lots of blogs and reviews, and I really do see a pretty equal spread, with MAYBE a slightly heavier leaning towards the after-35 crowd -- mostly because people around that age have had time to try CW and see that it doesn't work. |

38 and paleo for 6 months. I know only 1 other person on paleo and she is 42. Sometimes it feels a little like a young crowd on the boards--but that makes me happy in way. All you 20 somethings keep on changing the way we eat and maybe my 4 and 6 year old girls will grow up to a better "real food" world! |

I'm 69 and I know there are others in my age group. I started following Kurt Harris in October 2010 and just read his "Getting Started" section again this morning. Eating good fats and protein and limiting fruits, eating a bit of dark chocolate every day, No wheat and adding in some good starches(sweet potatoes, potatoes and white rice )I feel great and gain great pleasure from my lifestyle. |

I think a lot of Paleo eaters are older than me (23) largely because a lot of them have been battling with metabolic or other health issues and are using the Paleo diet specifically to improve these conditions. Also, many of the Paleo/Primal books have slightly steered me in the wrong direction because a lot of them are geared towards weight loss, and older aged individuals. There is a decent contingent of young Paleo folk doing Crossfit, though. Average age, shot in the dark: 40's? |

55 and angry that I was lied to for so many years. I've lost weight and feel great, but I just wonder how much better my health would be had I known sooner. I both envy and admire those now eating paleo in their 20s. |

Twenty Five, Started January 2010 at 162 lbs and now down to 150 lbs (actually 152 lbs as of February 2010 and have maintained since). Lower than I was in high school, 154 lbs. I try to stay 80/20, but it is tougher now that finances are getting tighter. |

I'm 46 and have been archevore since 1/1/11. Some metabolic issues definitely going on - insulin resistance maybe as chronic fatigue was ruining me. DH (formerly a chef) not Paleo and 27 yo son w/Chrohn's not going Paleo until Dadeo does. |

I am 21, and am unsure why I didn't start eating this way sooner. Carbs made me tired and all the more hungry, excessive milk products made me stuffy- I guess I just thought that was normal. My future children definitely will be raised to eat this way. |

I started Paleo at around age 34. Fortunately, I had been eating high protein foods since around age 20 when I first became interested in weight lifting. I never ate enough fruits and vegetables though. I was strict about limiting my saturated fat but used to be much fatter due to dairy intake. I lost weight when I eliminated added, refined sugars. Then I went Paleo and lost even more weight. |

28, been Paleo for 2 years. No other friends or acquaintences in my age group watches/are conscious of what they eat. I am the odd one out but don't give a hoot. |

I started in my later twenties, and am now 37...most people I know who eat similarly to me are in their thirties, but maybe that's just who I hang with ;) My mom is paleo, and she's 56, but I think her diet is uncommon among her friends in her age range. |

I just turned 30 this year, and I wish I had known about paleo in my 20's. It would have saved me a lot of misery. I switched to Paleo for several reasons. Mostly because I just felt miserable. The chipper girl I used to be was gone, and I wasn't about to drug myself up trying to find her again. My daughter is also 3, so I wanted to give her a good foundation to start things out right. We switched to a lot of organic stuff for her, and she eats fairly clean, however I didn't hold myself worthy of these same standards. Now that my husband and I are on board, we're like a new family. The weight I have lost along the way (down 54 lbs since March!) are all the perks. I also found that girl I had been missing and more. :) |

I'm 19 and I've been paleo for about 8 months. I've lost a total of 15 pounds, the first 10 coming off quickly when I became strict paleo. I think its something you learn pretty quickly and you maybe stop coming to this site so often because you get your diet dialed in haha. Maybe its just us youngsters looking for more advice, etc. |

29, hard to nail down an exact time frame when I went paleo, I eased into things, probably close to 4 months ago I hit the 90% paleo mark, but only 2 months ago did I start really feeling the negative consequences of going off reservation for a cheat meal. |
