I used to always have a stiff back (hard to rotate, lean over..) and it would crack and pop all directions (really loud, it disgusts people around me). This is MUCH better after Paleo but every couple of days it comes back. I also notice that when I physically feel this way my mind is also more tired and I can feel slightly depressed. Therefore Im guessing that inflammation is flaring up in my body. I do feel a lot better after I drink a disgusting tasting anti-inflammatory drink I make of 1 tbsp turmeric and 1 tbsp cinnamon and some other anti-inflammatory spices.

Edit: Besides eating Paleo I also dont eat dairy, eggs, or nightshades.

Does anyone else have this problem? How did you solve it?

I had that inflammation and it went away with Paleo. It'll creep back in when I'm not as strict, especially with dairy. Maybe try a Whole30 without the things you list, super strict and see if you can resolve it? Otherwise, you'll need to try other foods that might be causing a reaction...

The only cheat I really do is dark chocolate (soy free) from TJ and sometimes some rice protein powder when I dont feel like cooking a meal. I'll try dropping those and see if it helps. Thanks! – Geoff Aug 24 2011 at 19:04

Could be structural. Not all problems are ONLY diet. Having postural or functional movement evaluation done might be a good idea.

Maybe "Earthing" would help? I've never tried it, just stumbled across this book today on Amazon, but the testimonials are impressive. And what the heck, it might work!
