I was wondering if anyone knows resources where I can find a like minded paleo partner with the same goals?

I believe partnering up increases success rates. Looking for a pescatarian paleo partner with fat loss goals.

I didn't mean a romantic partner, but some answers suggest that it would be a great idea to help people find that too. Support wherever you need it! – Robin Aug 30 2011 at 14:44

Todd and I are talking more tomorrow and he'll make a post on his blog asking for more suggestions (PrimalToad.com). I will post a question here asking for more suggestions and link to his post tomorrow :-) – Danielle Aug 30 2011 at 6:37

Paleo weight-loss buddy or romantic partner? Actually it doesn't matter. This is a great question!

I really really think it's high time someone put together a social community for us Paleos. It would be lovely to have a place to find Paleo friends, weight-loss / fitness buddies, or romantic partners (or all three!)

Twitter is nice but it's got a LOT of the "hey, hey, look at me, I'm a trainer / fitness guru / book author, buy some stuffz from me! download my ebook! read my blog! listen to my podcast! you kno u want toooooo!" etc.

I just want to find like-minded Paleo PEOPLE. Just regular people to socialise with.

Any Paleo comic book geeks out there? ;)

I turned my husband onto paleo this summer, and he is a big-time fan boy. :) – Jessica Aug 30 2011 at 2:10

Have you been to the forums at Marks Daily Apple? Robb Wolf's site has one but I'm not sure how active it is. I visit Mark's success thread regularly for inspiration but I notice that there are quite a few friendships on the boards. Lots of support and information, too.

Luckily, my GF was open to the idea of Paleo (with some slight nagging on my part), once she saw my results, and has gone for it whole-hog. I consider myself VERY lucky to have a significant other that is as conscious of what she eats and buys as I am.

Good luck to everyone, because if my girlfriend didn't support me fully, or I didn't support her fully, I just don't think it would work. Plus we like to make fun of our vegan friends together.

(plus it doesn't hurt in the looks department either!) – Futureboy Aug 29 2011 at 23:57

You still keep vegan friends... totally not paleo. You should eat them. – Ryan H Aug 30 2011 at 0:03

I would have, but their Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratios are HORRIBLE, and they're all fattened up on soy-feed. – Futureboy Aug 30 2011 at 0:32

You can try meetup.com. They have all sorts of meetups centered on hobbies and unique lifestyles. I used to belong to a running group. I met a ton of attractive, active, health-conscious girls through it. If you don't find a Paleo group on meetup.com...start one!

Here's a list of them so you can check for your area here

Meetup Organizers meet the most people and end up dating members (always happens). I met some cute girls in my hiking group too. – BAMBAM Aug 30 2011 at 1:43
I want to join your meetup group BAMBAM – Danielle Aug 30 2011 at 1:57
I moved when I went back to college to switch careers. I was an organizer for a hiking group and did a weekly dog hike. It was fun for me and my BTF (Boston Terrier Forever). When are you moving to Asheville area? hmmmm? – BAMBAM Aug 30 2011 at 2:12
Asheville? I thought you and BTF are coming to drink raw goat milk with me in Hawaii ;-) – Danielle Aug 30 2011 at 2:54

I try not to even discuss diet, at first, around women I meet. You have to admit, when you first got told what Paleo was it sounded kind of crazy, right? Stop eating healthy grains?!? It would be much easier if the woman already had some idea of what actual healthy eating is.

At some point a woman will ask how your able to maintain a body so vastly different than most of the other men they've dated and thats when Ill get on my no grains soap box.

Marry me! Lol. Yeah, I keep paleo on the down low, don't want to seem too odd. Still single so haven't had to explain that yes I sometimes eat liver or beef for breakfast. – Minnie The Minx Aug 30 2011 at 16:57
Haha I love beef for breakfast. – Cory151 Sep 6 2011 at 15:00
