Hello - This is my first post and hope it will be helpful to Paleo Hackers in the UK! A colleague introduced me to these raw chocolate bars: https://www.livingfood.co.uk/products-21-Raw_Chocolate_Pie.htm I think that they are a UK version of the Larabar? They seem to have similar ingredients? The bars are amazing (I've just had the Goji Berry one and the Naked Pie so far), so delicious! You have to keep them in the fridge but they are really filling and great for a snack if you're stuck for time. The bars are little 'more-ish' but manageable with a little self control ;)

Years ago I used to eat Trek Bars before cutting out sweet things entirely. No added sugar or syrups, all "smooshed" fruit. UK health food shops and Boots stock them. |

Nakd Nudie bars are good too - just raw fruit and nuts, but very delicious. I avoid sweet foods completely now though. |

I'm put off as they all seem to contain agave, which whilst a better than many sugars; it is still sugar. I prefer that the sweetness in Larabars comes from dates & fruits. |

I've had these before. Delicious, but definitely a "sometimes food" because of the agave. I would recommend making your own, as you could use less sweetener and also save some money. When I make raw chocolates I use honey and some stevia. |

I love these things http://www.naturalbalancefoods.co.uk/store/nakd-nudie-bars/default.aspx NAKD Bars. They are made of basically like, dates and almonds, but are way more than the sum of their parts. However it is easy (and yummy!) to make stuff like that at home, if you can manage to not eat all of it in a day. |

I agree with the Agave comment. Here's more infomration on it: There's a good summary as to what affect Agave has on your body here:

I've eaten half of one of those things (peppermint/chocolate) and it tasted like pure sugar. The most important part of my paleo-ness is being sugar free, so I'd rather just make my own snacks. And FTR I'd argue that Lara Bars are actually more nutritious than these ones. |
