It's common for people to become paleo in response to pre-existing conditions or previous metabolic damage. I wonder if the fact that I had spinal meningitis when I was 9 months old helps explain my attraction to the paleo lifestyle. One of the side effects might be my ADHD or generally atypical cognitive profile in general. It also probably caused the chronic ear infections throughout my youth, which means chronic administration of antibiotics. All is pretty well now, though I have found it hard to knock off the last bit of belly fat.
I'm wondering: are there are other Paleohackers who had spinal meningitis as a child?
It'd probably be helpful for us to share our experiences and what has worked best. Chances are, there are various characteristics and problems that we uniquely share.
