I'll be in Cleveland for the Cleveland airshow this weekend, and am looking for places to go to eat, play, exercise for my quasi barefoot, meat-eating, "crazy" Paleo lifestyle.

Are there any Buckeye PaleoHackers up there that can give me some places to go? I'll be staying near Burke Lakefront Airport, and aside from the obligatory Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, and partying in the flats, I'm at a loss. I would love to get to a big park and go on a run.

Thanks for your input. O-H!

I live in Cleveland.

Probably the best paleo-friendly restaurant you'll find is Brasa Grill Brazilian Steakhouse.

Next to the Hall of Fame, there's the Great Lakes Science center.

There are MetroPark systems all around the area with bike/running paths. The MetroParks also include the Cleveland Zoo if you want to see that. That is were the gorillas that John Durant mentioned in AHS speech and blog were.

There is also a system of parks on the lakefront:

Cleveland is now quite a place. I was there at college in the 70s and it was dead and bankrupt. Dennis Kucinich was the mayor at the time.

It had a heyday in the 1990's, but it's gone downhill since. – Carl_Stawicki Aug 31 2011 at 18:53

Another popular (but not that crowded) place to run: http://www.nps.gov/cuva/ohio-and-erie-canal-towpath-trail.htm

Excellent steaks: http://www.hydeparkrestaurants.com/maps/hp-dt/index.htm

Welcome to Cleveland, have fun!

I was just there last weekend.

West Side Market is a must. I stayed downtown, spent a day at the casino and walked to West Side Market during the day. It's about 5 miles round trip walking from downtown but well worth it. I found some fantastic farm-fresh Paleo snacks and it was a very enjoyable trip. Lots of local farms, produce, meats, dairy, coffee and other stuff I wasn't interested in (baked goods).
