Some people report issue with various tubers, especially those with sensitive guts.
Please report your experiences with various tubers. Are you able to tolerate one kind, but not another? Has tolerance increased as your health has improved? What tubers are reliably easy for you to digest? Etc.
I can eat potatoes with no issue, but I generally don't eat too many), but sweet potatoes make me very sick, it seems to have an big impact on my blood sugar levels, I start feeling really sick for about an hour to two hours after eating.
I stopped eating them, just not that available here and I probably could only eat just a little to not have that effect, so not worth it.
I have been able to tolerate the orange sweet potatoes found everywhere, as well as regular potatoes when they are peeled. I tried some taro and weird sweet potatoes from an Indian market and they messed me up.
Yeah for me, I love and tolerate sweet potatoes very well (I always peel any tubs btw). I still eat potatoes occasionally, but I'm finding they cause some digestive stress, mostly in the form of deathly farts. Pretty much any other tuber, I've tried, aside from potatoes, sits well with me.
I like sweet potatoes but my diet has enough of the other things I like, I don't go out of my way to buy them. During the winter it maybe a different story. My hubby likes potatoes in his soup. Figures he does cuz he's the son of good ole Russian peasants.
With a sensitive gut you want to stay away from potatoes (inflammatory) and sunchokes for sure! Now if you have a bacterial imbalance or tendency towards candida you may want to stay away from starchy root veggies altogether as they will feed your inner bugs...
