This morning i cooked up 8 eggs, 10 slices of bacon in 2 tablespoons of butter. This meal totaled 1740 calories according to myfitnesspal. It was pretty damn good.
I'm wondering about high calorie meals. Do folks out there eat 1-2 high cal meals a day and call it a day? I figured what the hell, a paleo man would most likely fill his belly with a few pounds of meat, pass out and call it day.
It depends what I'm doing for the day but I usually eat at least one very high calorie meal. A meal usually doesn't even satisfy meal unless its over 1k cals.
In regards to what paleo man would have done, it makes sense that they would have eaten as much as physically possible when they could.
This is how I break intermittent fasts. It works very, very well for me personally.
I've found that breaking a fast with higher carb meals makes me personally feel like someone hit me with a truck afterward... but eating mostly meat and fat when fast-breaking tends to have me feeling quite good after the meal.
Do you train or otherwise do strenuous work? I couldn't eat that much food in two days, with rare exceptions. Age makes a difference as well. I don't eat nearly as much as I used to now that I am moving towards middle age.
I don't think a high calorie meal is necessarily a problem. My experience is that it all evens out in the end. If I have a big breakfast I'll probably be less hungry later in the day. I've found that my overall average calorie intake is very steady from week to week, even though I might have a day here and there like you where I have some larger meals. I'd say if you are feeling particularly hungry then eat it and don't worry. As long as your insulin is in control you're not going to overeat, IMO. Your body just equals it out later by making you less hungry.
