Hi PaleoHackers!

I wanted to spark more off-line activity amongst Paleo enthusiasts the world 'round and therefore have created a Meetup Everywhere page. Use it to self-organize and find Paleo folks near you and on July 8th 2010 have a great time.

http://www.meetup.com/PaleoDiet/

No more pussy-footing around and talking about meeting up. Just 'effin do it.

So, will you be at Paleo Diet Meetups Everywhere on July 8th 2010?

UPDATE:

Following up on some of your emails to me, I asked the friendly folks at Meetup.com about how one would go about associating an existing Meetup Group with Meetup Everywhere. Here is what Kathryn from Meetup had to say:

Psyched to see that you created a Meetup Everywhere for the Paleo Diet.

There's a great feature that enables organizers to associate events within an already existing Meetup Group to the corresponding Meetup on the Everywhere map. Feel free to pass these steps along to the organizers who asked you about this...

If you schedule a Meetup in your Group, you can plug the event's URL into the corresponding event you schedule in the Meetup Everywhere. Check it out! Go to http://www.meetup.com/paleodiet/event_create/ and you'll see a check box for "Should people also RSVP or register somewhere else?" You can plug in the URL for the Meetup within your Group, and then whenever people click 'I'm interested,' they'll be directed to your Group's Meetup page so they can also RSVP there. Conversely, Meetups within Groups can easily link to the Meetup Everywhere page in the event description to encourage activity there.

I hope that helps! Feel free to encourage your members with questions to write me at everywherehelp@meetup.com.

Hey Patrik - with Meetup's recent redesign, the instructions for linking a local group to the MU Everywhere don't work. Could you get an update? Thanks! :) – Elizabeth Feb 8 2011 at 21:20

I'm definitely interested in assisting others and being part of this, but my CrossFit affiliate gym already meets every Saturday morning. If more are interested in this in the Sioux Falls area, then bonus!

@PrimalChat -- It is unofficial and self-organized. Have your CF box do this on July 8th 2010. – Patrik Jun 17 2010 at 1:06

Steven, what do you think of a Paleo WOD and brunch one Saturday a month, once we are ready?

Oh, and of course we will participate on July 8!

See update about how to associate the existing group with meetup everywhere. – Patrik Jun 18 2010 at 22:53
I live over near Pasadena. It's hard for me to drive to the West Side. :( Are there any East Siders in your group that'd like to start a more easterly meetup? – gilliebean Jun 21 2010 at 5:49
