I'm on a quest to mimic and Paleo-ify the foods that we all miss the most, and develop recipes that are easily made in a crockpot.
So shoot: what do you want to see me try to make?
Thanks!
Sarah

Cheetoes. The puffed variety. If you can't pull that off how about chicken fried steak? |

Japanese tempura fried vegetables!!!!! I can't even do a planned cheat with them as it is pretty clear that I am celiac, though I am not willing to do any grains for testing due to previous experience with return of some autoimmune stuff ---> Healthy FEAR. There is so very little that I miss, but if I could have tempura again, just sometimes, Id be an ecstatic girl! |

Actually, chicken fried steak would be pretty easy with almond flour. Alternatively using crushed sunflower seeds maybe? |

Really about the only thing I really miss is salted peanuts. I have always had a thing for them, and only have peanuts in moderation now. But every now and then I break down and have a few handfuls. |

Bread slices or buns to put sandwich ingredients in. Portabellas are good, but to messy to pack in a lunch. |

Mac and Cheese! NOT the nastyazzfakeorangepowderedstuff, the but the real thing. But even if there were a stellar substitute for the pasta, I'm not sure about the amount of dairy. We've reintroduced dairy well in small portions (heavy cream, pastured cultured butter, raw aged cheddar), but I'm thinking that's a whole lot of dairy in one dish. Some way to thin it out a bit, but still retain creamy cheesy goodness? Coconut milk mac and cheese? :-D |

Ben and Jerrys Half Baked ice cream....or any ice cream general. Heck milk and sugar sounds good right about now but it's only because I know I can't have it :D |

Really good pizza, pasta dishes with cream sauces, ice tea with sugar, good crusty breads, and traditional desserts. Not only do I miss the foods, I also miss baking. I had a few "killer" cake and cookie recipes that I designed and had the process down to a science. I loved creating them and making people happy with them. |

Pretzel bread. It's such a delicious vehicle for so many toppings. It's the sweet/salty thing that I love. |

Used to love Bagels, toasted, soaked in butter and lathered in crunchy peanut butter. It would destroy me now, but boy was that a comfort food. Ah the past, its like a heroin junkie reminiscing about his best trips.... |

Peanut butter, jelly and banana sandwiches on white bread. Definitely don't miss the way they made me feel but they were sooooo tasty. |

Potatoes and tomatoes. I'm currently not eating them because I'm VLC. I'm probably gonna re-introduce them next year. |

My own homemade milk and honey yeast dinner rolls. Fresh Butter Sugar cookies. Baked Mac & Cheese. The kind you can cut into cubes, it's so dense. Beef & Stout pie from Pacific Pie Co - it's grass fed beef! |

Ice Cream (especially B&J), Pizza, Good burgers (not McD). I've been thinking about testing myself for gluten reaction. Why not make it with "style". (think all three) |

I just saw the season's first egg nog show up on the shelves. Before I noticed that, I would have said thick creamy chocolate malted milk shake. |

Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches, with all the peanut butter oozing out of the bread, and a tall glass of milk. I also really miss cheesecake. I don't crave these foods, just miss them. |

APPLE CIDER DONUTS. Especially when you smell them being freshly baked at an an apple orchard after you've convinced your whole family to go Paleo. |
