For the past prolly two years i have been using Bionaturae http://www.bionaturae.com/oil.html

About a week ago though i got a large bottle of Spectrum Organic Mediterranean Olive Oil. It was on sale. Anyway, holy shit, this stuff is ridiculously delicious. Hardcore olive flavor. I mean this stuff tastes like oil from an olive, if you know what i mean.

Wondering what some of your favorite brands of olive oil are?

ps. the only other veg oil im using (after reading about it on paleohacks and then doing a little research) these days is Macadamia Nut Oil from NOW foods. and sometimes i just gotta sneak in a little hot sesame oil from Eden Foods.

I think sesame seed oil (I'd use tahini actually, more nutrients in my opinion) is pretty good, especially with the sesamin content. The whole sesamin thing isn't really confirmed by any science (as a scientist I hesitate to jump on the bandwagon from that), but I can't help but think that its healthy with the ridiculous consumption in the mediterranean region. Anyway, just to say, I used to be a little crazy regulating my seasame seed intake, but i think you can lighten up without any negative consequences – Krish Jul 15 2010 at 8:57

I get "Paesano" Sicilian OO from Whole Foods. A 1L bottle was on sale for $13 last week. It's almost emerald green, cloudy, spicy, definitely olive-y. They have an organic version too but it's much more expensive. Nearly all the other oils there are filtered.

Chaffin Family Orchards in CA. The shipping to TX kills me, but I love the oil.

I like Trader Joe's CA Estate EVOO. I think it's about 6 bucks and extremely flavorful with a spicy backbite that's indicative of high polyphenols. Good stuff.

I get a great extra virgin olive oil from the italian retailer at the market I go to.

The taste is amazing, and it does not cost too much (17$ for 2L).

Colavita EVOO. Not that expensive and rich, earthy taste.

Kind of of topic, since it's not olive oil... I love grape seed oil. New to paleo, but I'm sure this is still allowed.

Actually I more or less dislike the taste of olive oil, especially compared to macadamia.

Anything from Spain... no joke. The best EVOOs come from Spain and in fact most "Italian" ones buy their olives from Spain, package the oil in Italy, and call them Italian!

This extra light stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Extra-Light-44-Ounce-Plastic-Bottle/dp/B0028P853E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=grocery&qid=1278809139&sr=1-3

Great for in baking or for mayo or anything you don't want to really have that olive oil flavour.
