I won't be the only one to say this but running 15 miles/week is probably doing at least as much harm as it is helping you. Try doing shorter intervals at a higher intensity. As for how much weight to lose, it depends on how much you weigh now. |

A safe and healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. That is a very general statement. Many other factors come into play such as current weight, diet, exercise, body composition, intensity of training etc. How bad are your bad eating habits? What kind of help are you looking for? If you could be more specific in your question, I'm sure you'd get some great answers. Running is a great way to lose weight, but it's also a very easy way to hurt yourself if done improperly. That possibility increases greatly with extra pounds. Combine that with a weak core and poor form and well...you could end up seriously injured. Try strength training to build muscle and circuit or interval training to burn fat. |
