I wanted to start incorporating 1-2 days a week of intermittent fasting, specifically morning fasts, and was curious if and how it effects one's BM schedule. I usually have one BM a day and it occurs very shortly after breakfast.
I've tailored my reply to answer in a manner that I think may pertain to you, rather than responding generically. If you need more clarification on anything, feel free to ask. However, my experience is yes: IF messes with my bowel routine.
I cannot defecate without first consuming food, and if I have a warm drink in conjunction to the fast, I get lower abdominal discomfort without an actual movement. For some reason, I need food to promote peristalsis. Also, I'm one of those people that need to go every day or my tummy starts to bloat and hurt.
If you are anything like me, abstain from warm/caffeinated beverages on days you IF and don't do it on a day that you have anything planned until you know for sure how your body will react to IFing.
Sometimes, if I wake up 2-3 hours before I need to go anywhere, I can manage a trip to the bathroom with simply a warm drink. However, it's hit or miss. I suggest you go through your normal bathroom routine (ie, wake up, drink your drink, and migrate to the bathroom in about an hour and see if your colon has anything it wants to say) on days you IF and try not to stress -- anxiety prevents me from going to the bathroom.
Oh, one more thing. My stomach doesn't actually start to hurt until I eat anything, so if you have somewhere you need to be and you're not hungry, perhaps you should abstain from eating until you know you can get to a bathroom, even if it extends beyond your comfortable IF window. For instance, this autumn, I have an 8:15 class which will require me to catch a 7 am bus to get there. I don't plan on having anything except cool water until after that class, at which time I know I can access the bathrooms on campus if need be.

Depending on how long you IF, it might just because you aren't taking in the same quantities of food, but I'm referring to IFs over 18 hours+.
I do IF pretty much every day during the week, weekends if I can, for up to 18 hours, starting early evening 4pm to next day. It actually settles my system a bit, helps my digestion. But then again, I have a very messed up system....
Yes. But generally my, erm, "movements" are pretty quick and there isn't much disturbance involved in the whole business, so timing doesn't seem to matter. If pooing is a big deal for you, you might want to address that issue before starting IF.
Yes... I have to poop immediately following my fast-break meal, usually dinner.
I usually fast skipping breakie, lunch, and breaking the fast with a very low insulin dinner (usually 1lb or more of meat and a low-impact veg like spinach, broccoli, or asparagus in butter). If I'm dying to have carbs, I'll wait until my low-carb meal has digested a bit before I eat anything that would change my insulin levels.
