I've just seen Kerrygold butter (unsalted) in my local shop here, in Hungary. After eliminating dairy for 60 days, I want to reintroduce it. But the label says, it was packaged in Germany.

Why? Is it common? And most importantly: is it problematic?

Thanks

It might be, if it is produced there as well. People here like Kerrygold because they believe it is from grass-fed cows. That's probably mostly true since there is lots of verdant grass in Ireland. Not as much in Germany, however, so Kerrygold made there might not be as grass fed. – Jay Sep 14 2011 at 13:03

I can't imagine why German butter would be problematic. Here in the US, the Kerrygold I've seen is Irish, if I recall correctly.
