I read the answers to a previous question on here about Hemochromatosis and the consensus seemed to be donate blood and limit iron rich foods. Also, as calcium interferes with iron absorption that seems to be helpful too.
My non-paleo eating friend has it and has been getting a pint of blood withdrawn weekly. His ferratin levels have come down a lot (from around 1500 to 500), though he's still a long way from optimal status.
Would zinc be a good idea to supplement to help white blood cells, and something like pregnenelone to counteract the effects of losing so much blood?
Any ideas on wise supplementation for someone donating so much blood?
