Too bad summer is ending. Could have set one up in the backyard for (according to this link) deeper and more restful sleep.
I used to sleep outside on a Pawleys Island rope hammock (with a quilt throw underneath) when it was hot and I didn't have AC. It was heavenly! (It was a quiet neighborhood.)
I love the idea of setting one up inside - I bet if I hooked one up in my husband's man-cave, he'd be all over it.
I do not use a hammock but on a side note I started sleeping on the floor a few months ago, best sleep I have probably in my entire life, doubt I will go back to a mattress. I wake fully rested, before my alarm clock, no pain, stiffness, limbs falling asleep, etc plus I believe my posture has improved.
I use a hennessey hammock when I'm camping. Yeah, I'm tempted to try try it indoors, not with a hennessey, though. Very comfy.
Woulda been great to start out in the heat of summer, though. Nice and cool. That becomes a drawback now, you need a pad under you to stay warm.
yes rocking is a great way to reset sleep. I often use sessions of rocking with clients with insomnia (I am a massage therapist) and have gotten great results. I didn't think of a hammock though, I will for sure share this with them. Thanks for the post!
