Hey everyone,

I was wondering if there are any tattoo artists on here who eat Paleo/Primal? (Bonus if you're female:)) I'd like to become a tattoo artist and would love to get to know some artists who eat Paleo/Primal too:) bc I have some questions related to the biz&the lifestyle.

Maybe I should put in a query about paleo finance people... – Wisper Dec 7 2011 at 20:39

I'm an artist! I do a little graphic design work and I'm currently learning animation and character design. I mostly do traditional stuff though.

I'm not a tattoo artist, but I really want to get a tattoo at some point. I've been doing some research into my culture's tattoo history and I want to get a similar tattoo to the ones my ancestors had. Apparently my great-grandmothers wore tribal tattoos on their arms and faces. I don't think I'll go that far, but I want something similar.

Cool you're learning animation!Do you have a site/portfolio online?I'd love to see some of ur stuff,if u don't mind:)...did a few courses of an animation studies,as part of an exchange for half a year.(As a kid I dreamed about becoming an animator/cartoonist)Really loved it!...had I known,I would've started that study and not the one I finished. Since switching to Paleo for health reasons,I can't seem to be able to sit down during the day.(I get too antsy/restless/anxious for some reason, probably out of fear or somethin')which really prohibits me from doing what I'd love to do. – Joey Sep 28 2011 at 13:06

I'm not, but it's something I've seriously considered and occasionally work on a portfolio.

Yeah,I defenitely want to work on my drawing skills too...but as I mentioned above somehow I get anxious/restless sitting down.Mybe it's fear of becoming fat again, without exercising, part of my medical condition, reading all the anxious posts about people not losing weight and all the IF talk. (I'm actually a bit underweight,so need to gain some but I'm afaraid once I do I'll keep on gaining without getting/feeling better....lots of contrasting issues here.) Do you have any of your stuff online?:) – Joey Sep 28 2011 at 16:19
Nothing online yet, no scanner. – ra25093 Sep 28 2011 at 17:25

I'm not a tattoo artist, but an artist I am!

I'm still learning, of course. And, I've yet to commercialize my skills. Mostly, I'd like to work in illustration, but I've had some people ask me to design tattoos before. They usually involve dinosaurs (kinda paleo? in a Flintstones sort of way).

Do you have an online portfolio? If so, you should link it!

I love getting to know other artists.

Here's my Tumblr (http://lauriesafari.tumblr.com/) if you're interested in having a glance.

You've got a nice illustration-style Laurie:) I love illustration/character design,especially animation!As a kid I used to draw a lot and fantasize about creating my own animated cartoon-series.:) However,now with my illness,food issues/exercise issues overall Paleo issues...I'm too restless/anxious to learn more about animation&doodle.:'( – Joey Dec 7 2011 at 17:49
Thanks! Aw, you should definitely pick up a pencil and doodle again. I stopped for ages, and only recently started sketching again! It's a great form of play. Really great stress relief. – L. Dec 7 2011 at 18:57

I'm an artist as well. I majored in animation in college. But currently am unemployed and making 3d game characters. Character design work basically. I dunno how hard it would be to go to tattoos from my current skill set. I would think you would have to master drawing with a pen, and inking.

Here is some of my work.

Very cool! I've had an intro to Maya once in college, but not nearly enough to be able to model a character. – Joey Dec 8 2011 at 13:22
