I was just wondering what the latest verdict on this fish oil is. I know a while ago, they used to list the combined EPA and DHA levels, and Robb Wolf himself said that he had done some research and found their brand to be pretty solid. Recently though it looks like they stopped putting the breakdown on the bottle, and instead simply said there was "300mg combined DHA and EPA".
Any thoughts on this? Has anyone dug deep into this? Is it still a pretty good brand to use, or is there something fishy going on (pardon the pun).
I think I break open one capsule before and it is mostly water and some fish oil. I am using the New Chapter Fish oil like the Cardio version and that really does have 100 percent fish oil for sure like the content of the capsule. I dunno the color between Kirkland fish oil and New Chapter fish oil is entirely different. Not trying to advocate for New Chapter just comparing on the quality plus quantity. I don't feel any difference when consuming Kirkland as oppose to New Chapter for some reason.
cod liver oils are not as good as the normal fish oils i.e. fish oils taken from the whole fish and not just the liver of the fish. the reason is that the cod liver oils are rich in vitamin A. thus, regular intake can cause an access of vitamin A, leading to hypervitaminosis A which is bad. cod liver oils are only to be used if prescribed by a doctor specifically.
Krill oil is a better way to go. Find one with at least 1.5mg per dose (2pills) of Astaxanthin (bewareof mcg 500mcg is only .005mg)..then get Bioastin 4mg astaxanthin (Bioastin is top quality) supplements.2 bio supps and 2 krill oils pills will do 10x more than any fish oil.Just make sure your Krill oil has a high dose of DPA/EHA, there are plenty out there. The Ataxanthin in krill oil keeps it preserved naturally and the DPA/EHA is the long chain fatty acids that let the body absorb the Astaxanthin so it can penetrate the cell walls of All cells..BRAIN/EYE/TISSUE ect. and there it will destroy free radicals and let me tell ya when it come to annihilating free radicals Astaxanthin ROCKS !!!
