Not only does it suddenly taste less bitter but it also doesn't seem to hurt my stomach! Even when I drink it on an empty one. I was even able to drink starbucks coffee black - I always hated their products and they seemed to be burnt tasting.
I used to need a dash of milk (never used sugar) to even stomach the stuff. I will at times toss a dab of coconut oil in but I can drink it black now. Why is that? Shouldn't it be horrible because of how acidic it is? Or has my stomach become more acidic on this diet? Should I consider adding chicory or should I not mess with a good thing.
Thanks for all the wonderful responses=) Edrice brought up something interesting (GERD). I wonder if this diet actually lowers stomach acid not raises it. For a few months before the switch I would on extreme occasion wake up and be spitting up stomach acid. Or at least thats what it felt like. Kinda scary experience actually. Hasn't happened since. I haven't had heartburn either which I was also getting a few months before the switch. I do think my gut has healed from whatever was bothering it- thankfully.
