Hi,

Has anybody here dealt with chronic Lyme and co-infections, in particular babesia?

Thanks, Kania

YES. which Babesia? microti or duncanii or one of the others?
IF Babesia duncanii the recommended treatment is 500mg azithromycin 1Xday plus Atovaquone liquid (Mepron) 1tsp twice/day with a high fat meal or snack. Mepron can be had from manufacturer for free if you are poor like I am and some CVS pharmacies can sell the Azithromycin for under $150 per 30 days. best wishes and good luck-hope I can help more-ask if you need.

I was diagnosed in 1992 at the ripe old age of 7. I live in NJ and regularly spent my summers down the shore exploring the pine barrens. My mother & I both battle chronic lyme( she had at home iv bags). I've been pretty solid for the most part since then I've only had a handful of relapses. Most recently 2 summers ago which put me out of Crossfit for 8 months and made me think I was actually losing my mind.

Funny back then my dr. put my mother & I on a "paleo" diet in conjunction with the meds and we still adhere to it today.
