PETA is claiming that this picture (below) featured in the NY Times Food & Wine section was "too sexy" and is tantamount to pornography.

Do you find this image offensive? If so, why? Or, are you consumed with thoughts of rubbing garlic and oil all over this saucy bird?

Experiencing continual outrage over ridiculous shit may not be a Neolithic Agent of Disease, but I'm thinking it could definitely be classed as a Neolithic Symptom.

I'll skip the oil, but I'll happily massage with bacon grease. ;D

Too much omega 6? Hydrogenated oil (transfatty acids) infiltrating brain tissue? I'm curious as to the mechanism. – FED at LiveCaveman.com Oct 1 2011 at 12:55

In the last half-century or so, we have been fecalizing our information delivery systems (just like the fluoridation of water), and so are consuming unhealthful amounts of supplemented fecal matter in our media. – Rose Oct 1 2011 at 15:25

I wasn't aware that PETA had an issue with pornography, considering they plan to start their own smut site.

PETA of all orginisations is complaining about inappropriate sexual imagery? They're even more ludicrous than I thought, given their history of misogynistic or otherwise questionable images in many of their ridiculous ad campaigns. What a great example of how B12 deficiency can cause cognitive impairment.

Edit: No, I'm not offended by a photo of a chicken, even one in a suggestive pose ;)

I look at that hen, I wanna jump her bones the paleo way!

Er, wait. Might be a rooster. Gosh I'm embarrassed.

I want to toss her bones in a pot full of vegetables, boil it for several hours, toss her carcass into the trash and drink the broth. Is that weird? – FED at LiveCaveman.com Oct 1 2011 at 12:54

Racy outfits and hooker makeup worn by little girls in the name of "Beauty Contests" offends me. This chicken is just goofy.

I agree. "Toddlers in Tiaras" is a tragedy. – FED at LiveCaveman.com Oct 1 2011 at 0:07

Ohh! We could even stuff some butter under the skin and inject herbs/spices into the breastmeat! – FED at LiveCaveman.com Oct 1 2011 at 12:56

Even though the chicken I eat is of much higher quality than the types that would be covered in salmonella, I can't help but be a bit apprehensive around raw chickens. As such, I get more of a "toxic waste" vibe from them than any sort of measurable tumescence.

Plus one for "tumescence". It would have been "plus two" if you worked "fecund" in there. – FED at LiveCaveman.com Sep 30 2011 at 23:57
