Hi there! I'm heading to Las Vegas in September (to finally tie the knot!) and was hoping that I could get some recommendations as to restaurants in Vegas that are paleo-friendly.
I'm from Canada, so please include any US chain restaurants that may apply to (ie I've heard that Chipotle can be done)
The Wicked Spoon buffet at the Cosmopolitan is fantastic, and very easy to do paleo :) Wasn't impressed with other buffets. Lots of steakhouses, sushi (sashimi!), seafood and such too, but I'll let others chime in on recommendations for those.
EDIT: Ack, I completely forgot the best meal I had there... La Cave at the Wynn. Small plates style, and very paleo-friendly -- we had bacon-wrapped dates, osso bucco, charcuterie, asparagus, something with steak and mushrooms... great meal.
Im a local. I love a restaurant a short ride of the strip..El Rincon de Buenos Aires. ItsArgentian meat...get a salad massive amounts of meat chimichurri sauce and they have groupons periodically. Check it out on yelp. Or Texas de Brasil on the south end of the Blvd in town square. Its a Brazilian churascarria (all u can eat meat and salad bar)
I enjoy the Spice Market buffet in Planet Hollywood, lots of ethnic food stations and ways to indulge. Though I can't speak for all the cooking oils used, etc.
And also you can drive north on the strip a little (no jk, walk it!!! or sprints)... lemon garlic chicken Cuban style!!!
We are a couple from Ireland (a Belgian and a Hungarian) had been paleo for 6 months when we went to Vegas and got married there in September. We stayed for 12 days and the second day figured out the buffet system in the hotels from the advertisement paper in our hotelroom. Every morning we would eat breakfast or brunch in the buffet of our hotel (Golden Nugget) and then would eat again around 7-8 pm after we had enough of sightseeing. We picked a different hotel buffet each evening. I must say it was the greatest indulgence of our life! The food there seemeed to be so much more quality than in Europe and cheaper too! Ever since we are dreaming of the crispy bacon that we tried to reproduce here from what you can find in Tesco, but so far not too much success, lol. The most astonishing was though that we lost 3 kilogramms each in 2 weeks which was unbelievable given the amount of meat we stuffed into ourselves! So far the greatest holiday we've had. I'm sure you'll have a great time too!
I'm heading to Vegas next week.
Any more thoughts, ideas, etc?
(We're staying on The Strip)
*Update: We're back.
Don't be afraid of the buffet at The Stratosphere! I had salmon, eggs, bacon, a veggie medley oozing butter and a good helping of beef stomach (they had menudo and I picked lots of stomach out from the menudo... they said it was okay for me to do). Good stuff and the only time I ate on Saturday, Christmas Eve. We went to the Cirque du Soleil Beatles show that night and all was well.
Hi guys, just wanted to see if anyone found any new spots in Las Vegas - going for 2 days with non-paleo friends and would like to see if there are any good quality restaurants with free-range chicken/eggs, grass-fed meat etc... Any tips would be appreciated!
McDonald's - Salad without croutons and dressing, hamburger without the bun/ketchup/mustard, and water. With a little common sense, every restaurant can be as paleo as you want it to be.
