Hi There, Let me post my results first and then you can read my background.

25-OH Vitamin D = 27.0 ng/ml ------ RESULTS END ------

I read Robb Wolf's book the Paleo solution and took up the 30day challenge..And I have been doing this for about 3months now. I have genetically high colesterol.

I stopped taking my Supplements (Omega 3 (2000mg Daily) and Polycosanol x2 daily (http://www.solaltech.com/ing/ProdResult.php). I have included a link to the supplement. I also used to take a general multivitamin daily. My LDL cholesterol was 2.9 2years ago when I was tested, but has gone up to 4.7.

Paleo is tough so due to this, I often eat French Fries and Grilled Chicken Thighs with the skin. Other than this I try and eat as much Grass Fed Beef as possible with the fat, 3 x eggs a day. Venison Mince and other venison meats.

I have started taking Polycosanol again as well as high dose of Omega 3 - 2.8g contains 860mg EPA and 580mg of DHA.

My doctor want to see me about my results, im assuming its beacuase of my elevated LDL.

Please help

How much butter and cream do you eat? – Travis Culp Oct 4 2011 at 20:03
I dont eat Dairy, Legumes or grains. I do however eat potato chips that are deep fried in Palm Oil? On the packet it says it contains no cholesterol or trans fat. – Simon Oct 18 2011 at 7:17

Your lipid numbers are as follows:

  • Total cholesterol: 233
  • Trigs 43;
  • HDL 43;
  • LDL 182

and

  • FBG 90

and your focus is on LDL increase: 112 to 182 while Paleoing.

You wanna look at Paul's blog that gives suggestions on how to lower LDL for those concerned about LDL numbers. Read the two articles below.

Also, look at my post regarding ApoEE and how your genetics might affect your LDL's response to a high fat diet.
