Has anyone ever tried desiccated beef liver powder or capsules?

I know the whole idea of eating healthy is to eat real whole foods and not supplements for maximum health benefits, but I know there are many of us that don't like the taste of liver. Most of the supplements I see of this type come from cows raised in Argentina. Does anyone think this type of supplement is worth taking?
Or am I better off eating braunschweiger/liverwurst with nitrates instead of the liver capsules?
