Just heard of the movie Quest for Fire and it got me thinking, there must be a few kickass movies out there about primitive or paleolithic life. Any favorite action-adventure type movies?

This isn't out yet, but the Hunger Games movie will be a good one. In the book, Katniss has to hunt and gather for her family to survive, because the grain that their government has given them is so nutritionally poor that everyone is slowly starving to death.

I loved that movie, thought of mentioning it, but I don't don't remember any emphasis on paleo there. Modern aborigines, modern Aussies, but I gotta see it again. – Huey Oct 9 2011 at 19:39

It was in the 30s I think. Traditional (primitive?) culture being overtaken by colonial Westerners. Little kids who run away across the outback from the orphanage and manage to live off the land along the way. They do this twice. I could care less about the big hollywood production. Yor: Hunter From the Future.

He's a modern person living a paleo lifestyle, does all his own hunting, drinks blood and eats organ meat, and gets plenty of sun.

Am I the only person who's seen this horrible movie?

We recently saw Kirikou & and Sorceress and Kirikou and the Wild Beasts - they're both animated and in French, but have strong paleo themes. I thoroughly enjoyed both!

"Harry and Tonto." '70s era movie that has zero to do with diet and everything to do with living an authentic life. Art Carney plays a retired Shakespeare teacher whose apartment building gets torn down so he goes on an odyssey with his cat (Tonto. Visits his mixed up adults kids scattered around the country. Great script, excellent musicla score, director Paul Mazursky at his finest.
