Since this was one of the threads that really convinced me on getting started with paleo, I decided to add my contribution as well.
Before paleo I was somewhere above 100kg (I did not have a working scale at home in the beginning).
I was eating bread/pasta in huge amounts, and still not feeling satisfied after a meal.
I have been mostly paleo for about 3.5 months now, with 2 weeks of non-paleo recently, and an occasional beer/wine/liquor/bread/pasta and other non-paleo stuff on social events.
In the first month I started with strict paleo in order to get my leptin sensitivity back to normal.
In that month I lost about 10kg (mostly fluid I think; the biggest advantage was losing the "puffyness" in the face almost instantly.)
After that month I decided to go a bit less strict (social events etc), and the weight loss continued at a steady but slower pace, until I got to about 90kg.
I loved the fact that I could skip a day of eating altogether if I did not feel like eating that day, instead of being dependent on food.
(I think I was as addicted to food as I had been to cigarettes in the past.)
During my vacation, my weight increased again about 3.5kg, due to not being paleo at all. (I consider 3.5kg acceptable, because we consumed mostly bread/cheese/wine, since we were in France after all.)
Oddly enough, it looks like the recurring weight is not where it used to be (my belly), so I have got no idea where the extra weight went; maybe it's on my earlobes ? ;)
I have slowly been moving again to a slightly stricter approach, and my weight is dropping again (currently about 92kg). I also started doing some Tabata sprints as wel again (2 times/week).
I decided to post a morph of a before and after pic just to show everyone - especially myself - how well paleo has been for my body (next to healing IBS which I had been struggling with for 2 years, not snoring any more - the Mrs. loves this - , and being able to wear some tighter clothing without looking like a human "Lazy Boy" ;) )
Here we go (3.5 months, after a slip of about 2 weeks during vacation):

I think I still have to lose about 10kg, but I will see where my body takes me...
It looks like the belly fat is a bit more stubborn then the other fat, maybe because it has been there for about 10 years ?
My biggest paleo-sin is not getting enough sleep; I am coming from an average of about 3 to 5 hours, so I already made a lot of progress, but I still need to improve it... I think I am now probably sleeping about 6 hours on average.
After the initial six months of mostly paleo I plan on having my blood checked, introducing a moderate amount of carbs again (at a slow pace), and living a healthy life again...
If any of you are hesitating to try paleo, then just commit yourself to 30 days of paleo, and see where it takes you ! Good luck!
