I'm new to Paleo, and still feeling my way around. I've seen some powerful testimonies - in words and photos - at a few blogs, but it would be super cool to have a huge list of Before and Afters here that folks could refer to when they are starting out or when they need a boost of inspiration.

Tell us how Paleo worked for you. Show your amazing Before and After photos.

Please inspire me and others to stay the course! It's tough jumping in when Conventional Wisdom says that eating red meat and fat are the worst things you could do to your health.

Thank you! Can't wait to see what folks post!

That is awesome progress! My before/afters aren't from Paleo. I wish it hadn't taken me so long to find this, but I'm glad I'm here now. – sherpamelissa Dec 15 2010 at 2:08

Hey, I've just started. Eased into the paleo thing Christmas day and went full on New Years Day. I've lost a couple pounds and that's cool but I FEEL GREAT!! the change has been 180'. I'm a firefighter and have some cortisol issues but in the last 2 weeks I'm sleeping better, have more energy and my depression is almost gone! I'll post some 'before' pictures when I have some 'after' pictures to go with them. LOL It's amazing how good I feel. The house is still filed with cookies and sweets but I don't have any huge cravings for them. The only issue I'm having is trying to eat enough.

Anyway, thanks for the site and hope to post some awesome pictures in a month or so.

I've been paleo (PaNu lacto-paleo) for almost a year. I'm a T2 diabetic and results have been slow. I started feeling better but didn't lose any of the 50-60 pounds that I still need to lose. (already lost 30 just being low carb). I recently was able to start IF'ing and reducing my glyburide (stimulates insulin - side effect: weight gain) with the goal of eliminating it entirely. I lost 11 pounds from Nov 1st to today - during the holidays!!!

It may take another 6-12 months, but I will post in that thread when I'm there. And I finally feel like its no longer a struggle.

I guess my point is that just because it works, doesn't mean its easy. And people have varying results that take figuring out whatever is causing the problem. Some people are gawkers and won't post ever, I guess. But, I'm guessing there is still a lot of "work-in-progress" going on.

In my late teens, I struggled with binge eating and eating a lot of wheat (which I was allergic to) and a lot of dairy. I wasn't at all 'overweight' but I was heavier, and felt like crap. I broke out a lot. I never slept. I got sick often, and they were usually sicknesses that were hard to beat (ie. bronchitis). I also worked out a lot, but never really saw results like I wanted. This was from Nov. 2008, when I was around 155 lb. (and I'm baking here.. makes me sad ha) alt text

Fast forward until I met my (now) husband. He got me hooked on the low-carb lifestyle. I felt better, and ate more food. I also lost weight, and leaned up in the right places. I no longer desire late night binges since I'm fully satisfied during the day (and go to bed before 10pm every night). These were taken in July 2011. I'm now around 136lb.

Win? I think so!

Paleo works because I love meat and feeling awesome. Its convenient for my lifestyle and I never want to be SAD again.

In 2008, 100% SAD diet, 19 years old

alt text

In 2011, Paleo for almost a year, 23 years old

alt text

Not a lot of difference, but seen more from dieting than all that working out I used to do.

Im 53 and have gone from 228 to 183 in a couple of months. All of this due to the paleo diet not exercise. I gained a few pounds over xmas but lost it within a couple weeks. I believe the lack of wheat has been instrumental in feeling better, more energized. And the best part is there is no daily struggle (except sneaking an Atkins bar here and there).

All I've gotta say is "wow". There are some seriously impressive results on this thread.

I am linking the photos because they may be nsfw (bikini/underwear shots) not sure what the rules are here. This is from only twenty days from eating mostly paleo (and by mostly, I mean conscious adjustments, not "cheats"). I am so excited to see where this will take me, especially when I start experimenting with exercise (i'm thinking crossfit).

Cool thread. Lots of positive changes in everybody's physique and beauty. Here's my story.

This is during my vegetarian experiment. Overall not to bad but receding hairline, a little pale and eye sockets are a bit sallow.

alt text

This is after going on paleo for several months, eating a diet full of meat, vegetables, and fruits. Just a tad bit more hair. Skin was still on the dry side.

alt text

This is after being high-fat, no vegetables. My preferred state for body and mind most of the year (I only change this by eating more starch at different points in training). Cut my hair off but you'll notice that the hairline is still lush and not like the first one. My skin here is more radiant and I have a "healthy" bit of weight on my face. And my face is more moisturized. A couple months not washing my face did the trick. In general when high-fat my skin becomes better.

WOW. WOW. And WOW. Thank you all for your inspiration. I wasn't going to do photos, but I will now. The proof is in the picture (well, not really, it's in how you feel, but you know what I mean...)

Cheers! to you all!

I have been paleo for about 8 months--just started diy crossfit-ish stuff at home about 6 weeks ago. In that time, I have lost 16 pounds and decreased body fat from 33% to 25%! Wish I had some good before photos, but I avoided having my picture taken!

Wow, just starting paleo eating and am so impressed by all these pictures.
You all look amazing!!!

What can I say guys? So impressed by you all, and its inspirational for the rest of us. Wish I could comment on them all, these are very personal life-changing moments going on for each of you! :D

Ok, I have no pics as yet, though I will try and dig out some eventually. But..I can say

BEFORE: IBS - alternate diaorreah and constipation, bloating and gas, cramping pains

insomnia and poor sleep quality

dry sensitive skin, reacting to shampoos, nylon clothes, etc

hives when coming into contact with dust

allergic rhinitus, blocked sinuses, loss of smell, and uncomfortable nasal/eye reactions to food, pollen etc needing daily antihistimenes

painful heavy periods and being a pmt monster! (crying, shouting, social anxiety)

constant hunger (especially nocturnal), shaky feelings when hungry, irritability, and sugar/wheat cravings

fighting all my life to overcome shyness

poor immune system, colds drag on forever and reoccur

wheezing in cold air temeratures

prob more..just can't remember..it seems like I'm talking about another person now!

AFTER: nearly all symptoms gone or reducing rapidly

I'm still eating some dairy, which I need to experiment with as still causes some nasal reactions I think, and I was a little bit grumpy when it was my time of the month, but no tears and no pain!

Lots of energy, good skin, able to breathe through my nose, feel more outgoing, no cravings, no hunger (or rather, REAL hunger, when I need it), loss of 'middle-aged belly fat', getting id'd when buying beer for my dh, even though I'm 38! :P

Good luck to you all on your continuing journey! I wish everyone could experience this feeling of good health everywhere :D

My body changes have been moderate, but several chronic problems are much much improved. Here is me before, a heavy smoker around 200 lbs. I was about 15 years sedentary at this point because exercise hurt so damn much. I was hiking the Na Pali Coast in Hawaii and had trouble walking the next day as my hips and knees were completely thrashed. This specific picture was about 4 years ago.

alt text

I quit smoking, started lifting a little (3 days a week MAX). I had to stop due to a surgery though, and then the weight all came back and everything got worse because my JHS (Joint Hypermobility Syndrome) got worse. Then I found Paleo and have been doing it on and off for a year, and really started to bear down in January and lost 25 lbs so far. The joint pain is much less, my energy is WAY up and the eczema, psoriasis, and GERDS is practically gone. This is a picture of the belt I have been wearing for 15 years or so, You can see that I started by punching a hole in it to make it fit, and then by age 36 I was out to the last hole, and you may notice the stretching that occured in between. The right hand side shows when I started Primal and where I am now, most of the way back to where I was.

alt text

And this is me after. Just a few days ago.

alt text

I am going to start hitting the gym again soon, but I am doing Pilates for now to improve the the muscular support of my joints so I don't hurt myself. Dammit I want my six pack!

My dad has to walk with a cane from all of the same issues I had, I wish I could convince him to do what I do.

Very Inspiring! Just starting the paleo process myself. I jointed crossfit almost 7 weeks ago now and am ready for this. I'm so psyched by the before and after pics. Thank you for taking the time to post them. One day I hope to do the same.

I don't have any good reference pictures, but I need to start taking some!

These are my stats:

September 3, 2012 (pre-paleo/pre-CrossFit): 66.9 kg, 30% body fat

November 5, 2012 (2 months paleo/CrossFit 3-4 x week): 59.5 kg, 22% body fat

People are schoked when they see me now! The difference is HUGE!

I haven't posted anything (yet), but I have gone down from a size 10 to a size 6. (I'm a female) HOWEVER, i have stayed at 170 lbs, and am 5'8. I do CrossFit 4 days/ week-- should i be losing weight or am i good where i am? i know i am gaining muscle, but the scale never moves, and i have been strict paleo for 2 months (80/20 for about 7 mos).... i guess i get discouraged because everyone tells me not to look at weight but how clothes feel (the decrease in clothing size), but then i see everyone on here who has dropped WEIGHT. thoughts??
