I've noticed my cravings for sugar and insatiable hunger has disappeared once I started eating 2 massive meals a day, once in the morning after an early workout and later a couple hours before bed. Has anyone tried the 2 meal a day plan?
Alternate between these 2 meals everyday (cooked with liberal portions of coconut butter)
Meal 1 5 eggs 1/2 onion 1 pepper 1 cup spinach 1 cup broccoli
6 oz chicken
1 large sweet potato
Yeah...Ever since I discovered IF via LeanGains...I eat really big but massive meals. Most days are 2 meals over 1,000 calories each...with the occasional ESE method of one meal a day at around 1500 or so calories. Been great...eating such big meals makes me full and satisfied for hours. THe frequent smaller meals always left me unsatisfied and starving.
Here is an example of a guy who eats ONE meal a day and it works for him.
I'm usually hitting two legit meals and one little snack (some nuts, a piece of fruit, etc.) per day and feel good.
A normal day is a late breakfast around 11am of eggs, bacon, and greens (all cooked in bacon fat) and then ~8oz of beef and a large fresh veggie salad and some steamed veggies for "dinner" around 4pm.
One or two meals a day has been working for me lately. I was really inspired by the Lean Gains protocols as well as learning that Herschel Walker eats only one meal a day and has since highschool.
here is an interview where he talks about it.
Yup...works well for me. But looks like I eat a little more than you :)...add about a half pound of bacon to breakfast and a large salad and another 6oz of meat to dinner and thats about exactly what I eat.
I love two meals a day, but I have to admit when I wanted to lose weight I would alternate it with 3 meals. Now that I'm bout were I like I just eat the two every day.
I never consciously set out to eat two meals a day, it just started happening (about 3 months into Paleo). Now I eat two meals almost exclusively, but if I eat lunch/supper too early I might saute up some veggies as a light third meal (usually happens on a workout day).
Art DeVany recommends against "grazing" (snacking throughout the day) because when we eat we turn off our fat-burning mechanisms. By that logic two meals a day would be superior to three, more time to digest and burn food energy. I don't know if one would be superior to two, though - I don't think I could fit 2,500 calories into my stomach at once.
