Is it possible that I have Candida? I have chronic constipation, fungal toes and a fungal rash in my lower leg.

All this started about 15 years ago, when I developed a pretty severe case of athlete's foot. I ignored it and never quite treated it, except for the usual: washing my feet everyday with a mild soap, changing socks, and occasionally using over-the-counter medications like Lotrimin. About 5-7 years ago, my athelete's foot gave way to severely fungal toes that became totally whitened out. At the same time, my toenails became irregular in shape with very unusual grooves and thickness. It became a real challenge trimming my toenails! At times, I felt like using a wrench and pair of pliers!

Then it occurred to me: is it possible that I have Candida? And is it possibly Candida that's causing my constipation? I know that Candida is not considered legit by certain medical professionals. It might even be controversial among alternative practitioners.

Be that as it may, has anyone treated their Candida with ThreeLac and experienced relief or die-offs? I have in the past used various probiotics with no real success. I have, however, heard of success in people who've used ThreeLac (but I also know that the company is also quite controversial, too).

Fungal infections, and yeast infections etc, often signify a systemic candida albicans overgrowth. Not always though :-)

Posisbly look at going Ketogenic, and eating good amounts of fermented foods and drinks like Kombucha. Rubbing coconut oil on the rash could help it too.

Well, it was worse when I did low carb. My feet were constantly peeling and became really rough. I'm better now but still have those fungal toes and bizarre grooves. My pinky toenail is like growing straight up! It's going vertical, like a rocket launch. – Ipso Facto Oct 21 2011 at 3:52

Are you eating raw eggs regularly? Richard from Free the Animal had toenail problems that went away when he dropped the raw egg whites.

Nope, 3 eggs everyday but always scrambled, not raw. – Ipso Facto Oct 21 2011 at 3:49

how's your blood sugar?

5.4 A1c. So okay control. I don't think it's a BG issue. – Ipso Facto Oct 21 2011 at 3:53

My guess is you are either carbohydrate deficient or vitamin A deficient.

What makes you say that Cliff? – Rhubarb Oct 19 2011 at 22:52
If your carbohydrate deficient your thryoid is probably to low and if your deficient in vit A than skin can;t protect itself. – cliff Oct 19 2011 at 22:56
I eat 150g of yams. I don't think Vit A is an issue. – Ipso Facto Oct 21 2011 at 3:49
beta carotene isn't reliably converted into vitamin a – cliff Oct 21 2011 at 4:25
