What ill side-effects would there be if I decided to cut fruit out of my diet completely? I eat about a kilo of mixed fresh vegetables each day, so I have other sources for, say, vitamin C.

Most weeks I eat no fruit at all. – Dragonfly Oct 19 2011 at 19:21

A deep sense of loss. ;) Seriously though, if you're hitting the veggies that hard, you'll find all the same nutrients.

If you're getting vitamin C, potassium and manganese elsewhere, you'd probably be fine without it. It's kinda tasty though....

None. There is nothing in fruit that you can't get from veggies except for sugar/glucose/fructose unless your veggies include tubors. Re vitamin c -- red bell peppers have more vitamin C than citrus fruit. Eat them raw though.
