I've been trying to drink coconut milk as part of a shake for breakfast lately, but it's been causing quite a stir in my stomach.. Anyone else having issues with coconut milk acting as a diuretic?

If you're talking about coconut milk, you may just be having trouble dealing with all the fat. It can act as a laxative, not necessarily as a diuretic. You may need to start slowly, then ramp up the fat over time so your body can deal with it. If you think about it, in nature, there's no way we would have access to such a concentrated form such as coconut milk in a can. We would have to find and crack open many coconuts to get the same amount in one can, that we can simply chug. Robb Wolf spoke about this recently in a podcast of his: http://robbwolf.com/2010/07/06/the-paleolithic-solution-episode-35/ |

I'm actually trying to figure this out right now. I have been putting coconut milk in my shakes this week and have been having some stomach issues as well. But, I was on vacation last week and ate horribly, and may be paying for it. I don't recall having this problem last time I used coconut milk. |

Only happens to me when I drink SO Delicious Unsweetend Coconut milk. If I use Thai canned first press milk I have little issues. Not sure why, but yeah it happens to me as well. |
