I agree with San Diego Dude...
I find Whey protein can have some odd effects with me also....
it might be the carageenan but i'd make sure that you're not taking in protein powder with flavors added (usually if there is flavor added, the sweetener in the powder causes bloat and digestive problems)....a lot of sweeteners that are used in these powders- agave nectar, stevia, sugar alcohols, etc., can cause lots of digestive upset because they are not as easily broken down (even if agave and stevia are natural)... and sugar alcohols are almost 100% of the time NOT tolerated well by the body...
I would try finding an all natural powder- jarrow makes an all natural (no flavor, and very little to no additive) whey protein powder....flavorless= tasting like crap but you can add it successfully to coffee (and hot to warm beverage) and the taste is actually bearable...There are other non-dairy based protein powders out there- I would look at brown rice protein powder.... a good brand is sun warrior....it's a nutritionally sound, no additive powder that you can find at whole foods and any natural health store. I'm not sure how many carbs (outside of regular paleo foods) you are intaking but one serving is around 5 grams carbs...it's got the highest amount of protein of any non-dairy and non-soy powder available and it's whole-grain, sprouted and vegan....it also might give you an extra shot of fiber which can help fix the bloat... i'd try some of this and chase it with a bit of water...Hope this helps!
