I have been paleo now for about 6 weeks. Started off at 97.8kgs, 6 weeks later i am 92kgs. Have been 92kgs for about 2weeks. My diet consists of a 4 egg omellette, with 5 strips of bacon, 5 mushrooms, and an onion , also snacking on a huge salad throughout the day. Followed by 2 large pieces of chicken breast(400gms each) Any advice would be welcomed. Am i eating too much? not enough? Im seriously ready to give up. Is it calories in, calories out? Im just so confused.

Yes, it's calories in/calories out. But two weeks is not enough time to worry over a stall or need to switch things up. How big the salad? What type of dressing? There is certainly room for painless adjustments to your diet to cut calories if that is what's needed. |

Are you walking and lifting weights? Add meat to the salad for lunch. Eat just three meals a day. Get sleep and rest. |

Eric is probably right about the timing of your meals. it is better to eat/not eat/eat as opposed to nibbling throughout the day. are you tracking your waist measurement? |

I say have a little more patience. I hear it takes awhile, about 30 days, to become a fat burner. Keep eating right, and build muscle, like mentioned, which is heavier than fat, so it won't show up on the scale right away. You will get there. I was frustrated myself. But, I am glad to be taking care of my body this way. Now, I feel strong, and the scale is moving in the lower direction. I would also say, how do your clothes fit? |

I think a clue to calories is gut hunger. If you're never hungry, you're probably eating too much. If you're hungry all the time, you're not eating enough or not eating properly for you (i.e., not eating enough carbs when you're doing high levels of activities). I'd use Fitday or sparkpeople or NutritionData to enter your food for the day to see where you are and whether there's room for changes re food. You don't say what you're doing for exercise, but I'd recommend Mark Sisson's approach (lots of low and slow, some lifting, some sprinting). That said, losing nearly 6kg (~13lbs) in 6 weeks is not bad! Trust me, I am very familiar with the feeling of frustration re slower weight loss (as are most women my age), but I think the story of the tortoise and the hare applies. |

What are you doing for exercise? The 3 things that caused me to lose weight were 1) Paleo diet, 2) very low carb diet 25-50g carbs per day) for a while, and 3) changing from running to high-intensity workouts for exercise. I found that the super low carb diet was not sustainable for more than about 3-4 months, though it helped me lose weight during that time. But then, adding back "good carbs" (sweet potato etc) did not have any ill effects. But the most important thing for me was the exercise. Switching to intense, strength-based workouts for about 20-30 minutes 2–3x per week was like flipping a switch. I immediately started to lose both weight and inches around my waist (four belt notches so far). I do kettlebells, sit-ups, push ups burpees, etc. and besides that only walk, no aerobic exercise. |

It's frustrating when you are losing weight quickly and then see it slow down all of the sudden, but that is completely normal. I freaked out, too, when my weight loss was pretty stagnant for a couple of weeks after a couple of months of steady losses, but the next week three pounds dropped off. Now that I've been doing this longer, I see that pattern in myself a lot. Two weeks of no loss is nothing to be concerned about at this point; it's just part of the normal ebb and flow of weight loss. |

I am going through the same thing, I think the metabolism slows down with age. A lot of people on Wheat Bell FB page are losing 1 lb per day when they go off wheat, you might try that, stop eating wheat. My Dr. is going to check my cortisol levels, he thinks they may be too high! |
