I've just used the Cron-O-Meter for the first time today.... And it has told me that I've exceeded my protein intake by 148 grams!! Seriously?!
The recommended amount is 46g but I've eaten 194g......... Is this a huge mistake? I've upped my intake of meat as I was dealing with serious hunger issues. Today I had approx 250g of mince beef for breakfast, more beef in stew for lunch and chicken with my dinner.
This has totally freaked me out - Can someone please tell me if I'm eating way too much protein? Maybe I should consider eating more fats?
Any help/advice/experience sharing would be very much appreciated!
Thats funny. My cronometer says Ive consumed 180 grams of protein and Im still 10 grams short of my recommended amount. I think you missed the part where you can change the settings based on the diet you want to follow. I believe yours is set to vegan.
It's probably comparing you to the RDA. Assuming your kidneys are in order, 1g/lb bodyweight will be safe and there is no real reason to aim for higher (other than satiety, but that's pretty individual).
If you'd like to decrease it though while maintaining the same degree of satiety, eat steak instead of the essentially heavily masticated meat you've been eating. The digestion will be slower and the satiety per unit of weight should be higher.
