I do a strength-training session at the end of my IF (24 hours) and for max muscle gain/fat loss I was wondering what would be a recommended post WO meal?

meat....then some more.... get good stuff with the chewy stuff by the bones – Mallory Nov 14 2011 at 22:30
You forgot to add, crack the bone, suck the marrow out, and then use the hollow bone to drink some chicken liver pate. Now that's gangsta' Paleo! – San Diego Dude Dec 7 2011 at 3:22

One would think that by looking at "the dude" he would already have his post workout nutrition dialed in. This question seems rather basic for someone who looks to carry less than 10% bf with muscle. If ain't broke, don't fix it. Unless you're an unhealthy genetic freak who gets shredded just by walking around and eating twinkies.

When I break my (typically 12-16 hour fast), I break it with 2 cans of sardines (in water) mixed with Kimchi. My workouts generally come 3 hours post-sardines and my PWO meal consists of a pastured chicken breast with a pound of wild caught fish (salmon, scallops, or shrimp on a rotating schedule) and an organic sweet potato. Simple and it works.

mmm that is my kinda eats – Mallory Nov 15 2011 at 1:07
Jeezus! An Lb of wild caught salmon...that's like 800 calories of fish brother... I'll give it a shot...I like the sardines kimchi blend; that seems like smart nutrition! – San Diego Dude Nov 15 2011 at 1:19
If you try the blend, let me know what you think. I'm not sure where you're located in San Diego but there is a guy at the Hillcrest farmers market (Sundays 9-2pm) with a booth called "Happy Pantry" that specializes in kimchi, sauerkraut, beets etc. The California Kimchi is the real deal. I'm not on FB, but if you are, here is a link to the Happy Pantry page: facebook.com/pages/Happy-Pantry/133084420050017 – Craig Nov 15 2011 at 1:28
Cool...I like it! Yeah I'm in Bay Park; I used to hit up the Hillcrest farmer's market but I need to revisit it for some local grown stuff and the kimchi. – San Diego Dude Nov 15 2011 at 2:05

Liver, scallops, or some much juicy piece of steak and sweet potato.

scallops? mmmmmm...good call vdh1979! For sure! – San Diego Dude Nov 14 2011 at 22:42
Scallops are full of nutrients and so are oysters. – vdh1979 Nov 14 2011 at 22:43
favorite Paleo meal is bacon wrapped scallops with a little rosemary on-top and a smidgen of cinnamon/brown sugar – San Diego Dude Nov 15 2011 at 1:17

damn dude, did you always have that body or by some chance did Paleo transform and grow you to where you are?

Nope been training hard and eating clean for about 3 months...strict Paleo has cut my body fat by 1/3 (12% bf to 8%)...messing around with IF once a week now and trying to get down to 6% bf. – San Diego Dude Nov 15 2011 at 4:58

56 oz grassfed porterhouse and i'd suck the marrow dry after o broke open every part of the bone

And I would wash it down with a berries ground up to a natural juice with the pulp and pectin. – The Quilt Nov 15 2011 at 0:46
